We are a village scout group located in the village of Halton, near Lancaster. Our group is made up of 3 sections, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts open to boys and girls. We always welcome new members to our group and are always looking for more volunteers.
Everyone is welcome in scouting. All gender, races and backgrounds. Regardless of your child’s physical ability – there is a scout adventure out there waiting for them and we’ll help them find it.
Scouting is open to all, and adjustments can always be made locally to make sure everyone can join in the fun. If you have any questions about accessibility, it’s best to chat with your local leader as soon as possible. By being upfront about additional needs from the start, parents/carers can work in partnership with local leaders to make sure their young person has the best experience possible.
Scouts work together on badges at their weekly meetings, away at camps and events or at home. Badges are easy to earn and you don’t need anyone special to sign them off. Whether you are an animal lover, bookworm, budding photographer, keen footballer or daredevil in the making, you name it, scouting has a badge for it – over 200 of them actually.
There’s never any pressure to do badges, you can do as many or as few as you like. But for those up for a challenge, there are loads of exciting badges to aim for, such as the Chief Scout’s Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards – these are the highest awards that Beavers, Cubs and Scouts can earn. And for those going even further, the Queen’s Scout Award is the top achievement for young people in Scouts.
